Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Byesky FAQ section. Here, we address common questions to help you understand and make the most of our platform.
Is Byesky free?
Yes, Byesky is completely free to use, and we are committed to keeping it that way to ensure everyone can manage their Bluesky subscriptions without any cost barriers.
What actions can I perform with Byesky?
Byesky offers the following features to help you manage your Bluesky subscriptions:
- Unfollow All: This feature allows you to unfollow all accounts in your list, except those you've specifically locked to prevent accidental unfollowing.
- Unfollow Non-Mutuals: This option enables you to unfollow accounts that do not follow you back, streamlining your following list to include only mutual connections, with locked accounts remaining unaffected.
- Lock followings: If you don't want to unfollow someone by accident, Byesky let you review your followings one by one to "lock" the one that should be protected from an accidental unfollow.
What is a "non-mutual"?
A "non-mutual" refers to an account that you follow, but that does not follow you back. By identifying and managing non-mutual connections, you can maintain a more engaged and reciprocal following list.
Why do I have to wait after some actions?
Bluesky imposes rate limits on its API to maintain network stability and prevent abuse. After performing certain actions, you may need to wait before initiating new ones to comply with these limits. This ensures fair usage and optimal performance for all users.
Why is my action still "pending"?
Actions initiated through Byesky are processed in the background and are placed in a queue. Your action remains "pending" until it reaches the front of the queue and is executed. This system allows us to manage tasks efficiently and adhere to rate limits.
Can my actions be processed with priority?
At this time, Byesky does not offer priority processing for actions. All tasks are handled in the order they are received to ensure fairness among users.
Why should I lock an account?
Locking an account in Byesky prevents you from accidentally unfollowing it when using features like "Unfollow All" or "Unfollow Non-Mutuals." This safeguard helps you maintain important connections without unintended disruptions.
What's the difference between "lock" and "block"?
- Lock: A feature within Byesky that prevents you from unfollowing a specific account accidentally. This setting is internal to Byesky and does not affect your interactions on Bluesky.
- Block: A feature on Bluesky that restricts another account from interacting with you. Blocking is a mutual action that affects both parties on the Bluesky platform.
Can I restore an unfollowed account?
Byesky does not retain records of accounts you've unfollowed. If you accidentally unfollow someone, you'll need to manually follow them again. To prevent such situations, use the "lock" feature to safeguard important connections from accidental unfollowing.
Why is my number of followings not the same as on Bluesky?
If you notice a discrepancy between the number of accounts you're following on Byesky and Bluesky, it may be due to data synchronization issues. Sometimes, the information between Byesky and Bluesky can become out of sync, leading to differences in displayed following counts. Regularly refreshing your data or re-syncing with Bluesky can help resolve this issue.
Where my data is stored?
Byesky securely hosts your data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) through Railway's servers located in the US West (Oregon) region.
